We all seem to live on an island of fantasy,
A “Someday I’ll” which we’ll never see.
Imagining that all is fine,
And all good is happening in a line.
Where workload is less and pay is high,
Where all our bills paid and yet there’s money to save by.
A “Someday I’ll” where everything is new, with no patch or anything torn,
Where we have our own home, and the children already grown.
Where there are no disease and we all are healthy and fit.
Where each one is a friend and every soul without guilt,
A “Someday I’ll” where problems end and all is calm,
Where life is like a long glad psalm.
Most unhappy people dream of tomorrow,
To wipe out today’s hardship and sorrow.
They search and then wait for happiness as if it were far away,
And in that struggle, they spoil their present, their today.
But happiness can’t be bought, it can’t be defined,
Search it in your work, soul and mind.
Happiness is where you are at present,
Live each day well and let no one label you a dormant.
Life is filled with uncertainties and we have to live with them
To pick every step with responsibility and not just pray and say amen!
If you live in the past, you are living with incidents,
If you live in future, you are on the fantasy island.
You’ll never step on your fantasy island of “Someday I’ll”.
Though you might struggle hard, mile after mile.
For today well lived is a pleasant memory of yesterday,
And a hope for a better future.
So promise to yourself, take a vow,
Take “Someday I’ll” and make it your now.
